ICKYDOG MUSIC GROUP: ARTISTS
Charlie
Williams
[composition, piano, production]
With roots in modern classical performance and composition, Williams' music merges the exploratory traditions of the avant-garde with the energy and passion of rock, electronic, and related music. His wide-ranging instrumental talents and intuitive command of electronic media work together to form a distinctive, evolving style that has earned recognition across North America and Europe. Having exhausted his lifetime quota of days spent sitting by himself in a room practicing classical piano, Williams' current projects explore the possibilities inherent in the reconnection of "art" music and popular genres. His 2005 album Midnight for You with his group Mira Mira was praised as "pop music for thoughtful people" and "raw, indie pop in its truest form".
